Pod 51

Hiya! I feel like it is one thing to explore New York and have an amazing time and it is a completely separate thing to be able to find a hotel in New York where you feel comfortable relaxing and recharging at an affordable price. 

During my last trip to NYC, I found the spot where all of these ideas intersect....it's called Pod 51 (I booked through Expedia)! 

Conveniently located in Midtown East on 3rd Ave and 51 st, you are close to plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Not only that but you are short walk away from Grand Central Station and the 5th Ave shops! 

Now, if you are looking for a room at the Palace (located an avenue to the west), Pod 52 isn't for you. The rooms are quite small but use all of their space wisely! 

Kate and I booked a bunk room that has a shared, private bathroom. However, upon our arrival we were upgraded to a room with our own private bathroom! It was very clean, comfortable, and somewhat quiet. 

My least favorite and favorite part of the hotel was the bathroom....there was an oddly placed window so the bathroom wasn't very private. To make up for this there was a round rain shower head!

It was exactly what I needed after walking 15 miles around Manhattan and I highly suggest it for college student traveling to NYC! 

From my profile to my apartment...

Everyday the camera roll on my phone and Instagram profile grow bigger and bigger. After volunteering at that mobile photography workshop in London, being more active and creative on Instagram has become a daily goal of mine! 

However, recently I began thinking about how the more creative I get with my pictures....the farther away from me they seem (and the farther I have to scroll to see them). I have always loved scrapbooking and being able to share my photos not only with others but to be able to enjoy them myself. Scrolling through them on a tiny screen everyday isn't exactly what I have in mind when I want reminiscence about my time abroad.  

Thankfully, we live in a time where all I had to do was a quick Google search 'How to get Instagram photos developed' and I had tons of choices at my fingertips to explore! After comparing prices and quality, I decided to use Printstagram!

In my first order, I got almost 50 photos total for less than 25 dollars! Not only was the price the best I could find online, the quality of these prints are amazing! They are the perfect little squares to decorate my apartment with and even include a white, Polaroid-esque border on each one.  

I can't wait to hang them up in my new apartment and surround myself with memories from around Pittsburgh, my semesters in Rome and in London, and other places I have traveled to with Instagram!

Santoro London Review

I have always enjoyed reading through reviews of products on my favourite blogs. I will now be accepting products/experiences to review, but of course all of the reviews are my own opinions. So, yes the products may be given to me, but as I always do on this blog, I will tell you exactly how I feel. 

To start, I recently contacted Santoro London  to let them know how much I admired their travel products. I got a quick response saying that they were going to send me a few items to have and review! 

The two products above, while not my style, were useful for my trip back from London! I always dread having to search for my suitcases at baggage claim but this tag made it nice and easy to find!

My favourite collection from Santoro is the Scottie Dog Collection! I love the cute prints and the fun colors! The card holder was awesome for my Oyster card and now that I am back home it is great to hold all of my bank, ID, and gift cards :) 

The pen and notebook are perfect for writing down travel stories and to do lists! Plus, every time I use the pen, I think of my Scottie dog Molly!
